As we close out 2005 and open 2006, it is a great time to review the past year and to look forward to exciting plans for 2006.
First of all, I wish to sincerely thank all our producers
that choose to work with us, allowing us to help provide insurance solutions for their client’s unique situations. Your business provides the revenue stream that enables our firm to continue our mission.
2005 was a very good year. Major accomplishments included the addition of three employees, Paul “PK” Keller to head up our Medicare Supplement area, Chris Faw our internal annuity wholesaler and Jessica Morris our licensing and contracting analyst. Valuable additions all, they bring an increased level of enthusiasm and competence to their respective
We also added new carriers to our portfolio: Empire General, Genworth Financial, MetLife Investors, Jefferson Pilot and Securian Dental. All these carriers fit our criteria of offering excellent consumer values, strong financials, fair producer compensation and are operating in the brokerage marketplace.
Our firm continues to invest in products and services that allow us to serve you better. We added an Online Contracting System, allowing our producers to contract with multiple carriers with only one set of contracting “paperwork”. Our online status system automatically emails producers each time their client’s application status changes in underwriting, and
we upgraded our two websites – www.brokerageresource.com and www.tbrltc.com.
2006 will offer a number of opportunities for all of us. I expect NC will enact legislation allowing for the sale of Long Term Care Partnership plans. These plans are likely to light a fire under our LTC marketplace. Medicare supplement markets will
continue to expand and offer opportunities as the Medicare Part D drug program becomes more user friendly. Medicare Part D will remain a wonderful financial subsidy to our seasoned citizens – this market is huge – 18,000,000 seniors have not yet purchased coverage.
The potential for new clients is great – one of our producers helped over 400 seniors obtain drug coverage in just 45 days. She now has 400+ new clients to work with on their insurance needs. Carriers are redoing their life portfolios, bringing
more value to their clients. The term market offers consumers better values than ever before.
Investing in our future is key for 2006. Installing a new VOIP phone system will greatly expand our ability to serve you via phone and installing a new Agency Management System will increase our overall efficiency. We will invest heavily in our people. We currently spend about 10% of our non-payroll budget to train and education of employees and brokers.
We are committed to provide you information, products and services to help your practice grow and prosper. You will hear from us via our quarterly newsletters, emails, faxes, mail and phone calls.
In March, look for our exhibition booth at the NCAHU Symposium in High Point, the SCAHU symposium in Columbia, SC and the NC Financial Services Expo in Winston Salem. These meetings are great ways to network and earn between 6 and 12 hours of CE, while also increasing your knowledge of our industry. If you need information on any of these meeting please give us a call.
Let us be your insurance resource and make 2006 a banner year!
