Who Isn’t an Ideal Candidate for Critical Illness Coverage?
There are more people out there than you realize who would likely find value in a critical illness policy. For example: single persons, single parents, homemakers, clients in need of mortgage or loan protection, key person insurance, self-employed
individuals or business partners are ideal clients.
Anybody with financial obligations that would become a burden upon their suffering a critical illness (for example: cancer, a heart attack or a stroke) are ideal clients.
Critical Illness Underwriting… It isn’t like anything else! However, offering critical illness insurance to your clients represents one of the best opportunities in your industry. One of the most challenging and frustrating aspects is understanding that CI underwriting is different. Remember first that CI exists because people survive critical illnesses. It is important that agents pre-screen their clients. Clients with a history of high blood pressure, depression, skin cancer high cholesterol, heart conditions or build issues will be reviewed closely. Check with our office if you are unsure whether a client’s medical history will preclude them from getting coverage.
