A letter of release is required if agent has written business in the past 6 months or has contracted with previous upline in the past 6 months.
If the agent is unable to obtain the required release or does not meet the 6-month rule, they will need to communicate to carl@cigna.com and robiny@tbrins.com that they intends to switch hierarchies in 6 months.
The communication from the agent to the Cigna contracting mailbox will serve as the start of the 6-month waiting period and we will track that date on the agent’s profile.
If the agent can obtain a release or has met the 6-month rule, then a new online contract can be completed to transfer the agent to The Brokerage Resource.
Transfers will not be processed from 9/1 to 12/31

We use SureLC for contracting with Mutual of Omaha. You can make that request below. You can review our Instructions for getting set up in the portal and making the request. If you have any questions, please call or email Robiny Mitchell at (919) 794-3177 or robiny@tbrins.com.
Processing will take approximately 3-5 business days. An email will be sent to you from Mutual of Omaha with your new agent number when the approval process is complete.
MT and PA are the only states where you must be appointed in that state prior to taking a client application. Effective 9/6/22, simply email Mutual’s special PA/MT email account to request that these states be added to your contract. They will get the request set up immediately but they must have a formal request to add these two states. They will no longer need to wait for the state’s Department of Insurance to confirm anything, which has been the real delay in most requests.

AML Training (Life policies)
Mutual of Omaha requires that an agent’s AML training be current before any LIFE application can be issued. AML training typically renews every two years. Mutual of Omaha will require proof that the training is current before a client’s pending life application can be finalized.
The easiest and quickest way to do AML Training is by using the LIMRA website. The results are uploaded to many carriers, including Mutual of Omaha, via a direct data feed between the carrier and LIMRA.
Partnership Training (LTC policies)
Mutual of Omaha requires that an agent’s LTC Partnership training be current BEFORE any client LTC application can be DATED. Mutual provides a detailed Overview & Training Guide which outlines the industry and state requirements.
They even provide contracted agents with a direct link to take the course using LTCiTraining.com. You can find the link and details inside Sales Professional Access. Simply log into your portal, hover over the Products link in the top toolbar. You should see the Partnership Program listed in the drop down options.
Mutual of Omaha will require that copies of ALL Partnership training certificates be in an agent’s licensing file. This includes the initial 8-hour training and all 4-hour refresher courses.
We highly recommend that this information be verified before an LTC application is going to be taken. If the training is not complaint and a client application is taken, the client application will be declined due to contracting and the client will get an automatically generated declination letter.
Agents can email Mutual of Omaha’s Licensing Department directly to inquire about the status of their training and to provide any updated information.

Non-Resident Fees:
- Agents are expected to pay non-resident appointment fees. You will not be charged for your resident state license.
- Once contracted agents are expected to write at least one piece of business.
- Failure to produce one piece of business when contracted from 11/31 to 4/1 will result in a $200 to $250 fee and will result in a termination
When all information has been entered, you will be asked to review the Agreement and “click to sign”. Select the “Send Now” button to send your contract for processing.
Contracting will typically take 3-5 business days to process. You will receive an email directly from UnitedHealthcare when your contracting is complete.
You will also receive an email from UHC with your Party ID and instructions on how to begin the certification process. The Party ID is NOT your agent number.
Once certified UHC will issue you a welcome email with a writing number. You can NOT market any products until your writing number has been issued.
Transfer/Release Policy
Agents can only change uplines once a year and transfers will not be processed during UnitedHealthcare’s blackout period, September 1 to December 31.
If you have a signed release, send a copy to robiny@tbrins.com. A release must be dated within the past 60 days and signed by the agent’s top of hierarchy.
Unable obtain a release? You can submit an Intent to Transfer request via email to robiny@tbrins.com. Once the Intent to Transfer request is submitted, you will be sent a letter notifying you of the date your 6-month waiting period will end. After the 6-month waiting period, new contracting needs to be submitted to finalize the transfer to The Brokerage Resource.
During that 6-month waiting period, you can continue to write business with your existing hierarchy.

How to apply for Intent to Transfer:
- Submit a Notice of Intent to shcerts@uhc.com and copy robiny@tbrins.com. You must include your full name, agent ID, and identify your new up-line in the email (The Brokerage Resource 6337332).
- Example: Hello, My name is John S. Doe, ID 12312. This is my notice of intent to transfer to The Brokerage Resource 6337332.
- UHC Agent Onboarding will confirm receipt of the Notice of Intent and give you a date when your new up-line can submit a new contract for the transfer. This is also copied to your original up-line.
- There is a 6-month waiting period for a transfer from the date of your Notice of Intent to when a new contracting packet can be submitted. During that time, you will remain under your original hierarchy and can still sell UnitedHealthcare plans.
- If you submit a Notice of Intent dated between March 1 and July 1 you will be able to submit a new contract January 1 of the following year.
- After the 6-month waiting period s is up, you have 30 days to submit a new contracting packet. If it isn’t submitted in that time frame, you will remain in your current hierarchy. At that point, a new Notice of Intent would be required and the 6-month waiting period would start over.
